That was totally amazing.

1) I can't say that I agree with Adama's actions, although I can understand why he chose what to do what he was doing. They're both acting to protect humanity, though coming from 2 different angles. I think this clash between them was a long time coming. I wish Lee hadn't felt pushed to go against his father. Adama's speech to Boomer and her co-pilot really hit hard.
What I really want to know (besides 'Will Lee and Adama be able to repair their relationship?') is who is going to be running the Fleet while Adama is injured? (I can't even begin to accept the idea that he won't recover.) Is it possible that BALTAR might be in charge, if they rescue him and the others from Kobol?
2) Damn, that fight between Kara and Six was hard to watch. I hate to see Kara getting whooped like that. I am, however, glad to see that Six has skills beyond wearing revealing clothing and playing mind games. She's nasty when she's angry (and maybe a little jealous.)
3) Helo is protecting the baby. After that scene on Kobol, I think I have to accept that the baby is real and not just a lie that Sharon made up to keep Helo from killing her.
4) What was in that crib(?)/bed(?) on Kobol. I thought, at first, that we would get a look at some of the other models of humanoid Cylons. Now I wonder if they've been doing hybrid genetic experiments. And if a Cylon has genes that can mingle with a human's and create a viable lifeform, can they still be considered Machines? Can they reproduce on their own? Are they going to be like humans in term of varied appearances, in which case how the frack can anyone identify him?
5) Can I stand to wait until July? I already feel like I'm going through withdrawal.
Damn fine episode.

Date: 2005-04-02 04:46 am (UTC)As I was watching Colonial Day, I was wondering about Tom Zarek. He says he didn't kill Valence. One wonders if Ellen Tigh was responsible, at Zarek's behest. In that case, Zarek could use his knowledge to muscle his way into power, via blackmail or maybe by releasing his suspicions to the public.
I'll just have to pray for Adama's speedy recovery.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:01 am (UTC)My impression was that Six is great at manipulating Baltar. I can't help but wonder if he thinks that the baby (I'm assuming it was a baby) is his and Six's, not Boomer's. He's getting ran over by Six - I wonder if he'll ever escape that.
I think I have to accept that the baby is real and not just a lie that Sharon made up to keep Helo from killing her.
What else I want to know is why did the galactica Boomer shoot Adama - besides the obvious reason of taking out the leader. It's like the Caprica Boomer is safely pregnant, so the galactica Boomer is expendable. It's rather scary how willing the cylons are to sacrifice themselves.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:07 am (UTC)The question of Galactica Boomer's actions is a good one. I can perfectly understand why. The whole place is in chaos and they can get rid of one human leader, now that Baltar is positioned to take over civilian lead. I think Tigh would be easier to manage than Adama.
Or it could be that the Cylons think that Boomer outlived her usefulness, so they might as well make good use of her before she gets exposed as a Cylon.

Date: 2005-04-02 06:03 am (UTC)My other suspicion is that Six is the god she keeps talking about. I'm not sure why, but she strikes me as the spider on the web.

Date: 2005-04-02 06:11 am (UTC)I had briefly flirted with that idea, but she always sounds so *sincere* when she's talking about god. But maybe it's not the Six that Baltar sees, but the very 1st Six. Or the one (person? program?) that created her and the rest.

Date: 2005-04-03 02:09 am (UTC)And I thought she looked a little conflicted (or stunned, anyway) right after. I'm not sure she's really more Cylon than she was before. It may just be that she let her guard down after accomplishing the mission.
This is all speculation, of course.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:17 am (UTC)anyway, i figured it was something similar to that.. six was kind of showing him a hologram of what their baby might look like. not necessarily that they already had a baby, but what it might look like, now they know that a cylon can get pregnant with a human - though can sharon carry to term, i don't know, you would assume so but you can never tell.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:22 am (UTC)I wish they had let us see, but it does work to let us imagine. I still wonder, though, if that baby might already exist--back on Caprica, for instance.
What I don't get is that Six mentioned having a baby and Baltar didn't really seem gung-ho about the idea. Granted, he was still grappling with accepting that Six isn't human, but he hasn't really expressed any particular interest in procreating. So, why would a baby move him so much? I would think that the idea of a human/Cylon baby would turn him off, at first.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:27 am (UTC)when did six mention having a baby with baltar? i don't remember that.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:39 am (UTC)LOL!
I thought she mentioned it in the mini-series, while they were still on Colonial One. I'd have to check my DVD to be sure.
My bad
