Your comments were right on. I was glad to see this week's episode after the rather mundane and predictable plot with Xena, er, Lucy *grin*.
My husband's big comment with last night's episode while watching was, "The cylons are my favorite science fiction villian because despite acting as a collective, individually they ARE about self-preservation." I know he's thinking based on seeing Sharon act, and I could run a devil's advocate on his statement with the actions of some other cylon individuals, however in general I think he's right.
The fight between the Chief and Helo was just heart-stopping drama, right on, absolutely what would happen in "real" life. My love of this show stems from the fact that all of these characters are acting consistently. They are not being written all over the place. You know if someone is doing something in character or not. And that fight was definitely in character.
You had mentioned not remembering the chief stand up for Cally. It was when he had asked Adama to lower the charge in Adama's quarters. I forget the episode...a couple back, not last week....
My hubby says the next one to be revealed as a cylon is Dualla. Heh. I don't think so, but of all the characters, he's got a point about her....
Hehehe, I couldn't think of her as anything but Xena either. I really actually liked that ep, though. The slice-of-life stuff was really good to see--to get more into folks' heads (& omg the first names!! Felix????).

Yeah, I don't think Six is necessarily about self-preservation. She's more about religion than anything else so far.
It was when he had asked Adama to lower the charge in Adama's quarters
Thank you. I'd forgotten about that.
And Dee canNOT be a Cylon, darnit. That would suck even more than Gaeta being a Cylon (which I think so far is much more likely).
I was definitely thinking of Six when I said that. I don't even think it's right to judge the cylon collective purpose on the Sharon model. The other cylons even say she's a mess. The Galactica Sharon refused to admit to herself she was a cylon and so couldn't control what was going on when she was programmed to make the hit on Adama. I could go on....*grin*
Maybe that Xena episode was better than I was giving it credit for. I liked the slice-of-life stuff too, it just bugged me most of all how it ended. Like, duh, of course she's a cylon.
