[identity profile] karihan.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] 13thcolony
I originally wrote this little analysis of the Pegasus crew as a comment on [livejournal.com profile] kimbari 's journal and subsequently posted it to my own, but she suggested I also post a link here because her lj "is hardly the crossroads of the Internet." And neither is mine. 8^D

(Link to my journal. Warning: spoilers for "Pegasus"!)

I'd love to hear what you all think!

Yes!

It's all in the context, right? I think the Pegasus crew had to be the hard asses they were in order to make it through their situation. These are military people, trained to follow orders without question to save their lives and their comrades. For all they knew, they were the only ones left. Like you said, they didn't have to be the protectors that the Gallactica had become. They didn't need to learn to be more flexible to work with all the rest of the civilians. Hell, they didn't have a president to answer to. Of course, that only explains the crew. Admiral Cain, on the other hand, has something else going on in her head, whether it's a death wish or that who knows? maybe this time she's a cylon? (I mean, how DID they manage to survive and do so well all by themselves?) Some people think that it was too "black and white" and that it was meant to show the Pegasus crew as bad guys, but I believe it was rather realistic.
