While it may be true that Cylons actually have some of the basic drives of human beings and seem to worship a God and want to reproduce, it also may be true that it is only part of their programming to "think" that. In a way they remind me of HAL from the movie "2001." He almost seems human at times and seems to have feelings, and when Dave deactivates him near the end, it almost seems like Dave is killing him. But it's hard to say if HAL or the Cylons actually have "real" feelings, or whether they're just very advanced "toasters" that have, as part of their programming, a belief system that only emulates the drives and emotions of actual living things.
