Starbuck and Apollo make a good team, President Roslin kicks ass, and I knew they should have spaced Ellen Tigh. Most importantly, Lee in nothing but a towel! My thoughts, shallow and otherwise, behind the cut.

I knew Lee should have let Kara kill Zarek in "Bastille Day." OK, I know there would have been complications, but damn, I hate that guy. And Ellen Tigh. And Baltar. And those dreadful journalists from "The Colonial Gang." (Not even the end of the world will save us from the media whores. They're like cockroaches.)

Zarek pontificates about "the group, not the individual...operate as a collective," which makes him sound like a Cylon and calls to mind some very negative Earth-history associations. Zarek is too dangerous to leave alive, IMO.

Ellen is out for herself, to no one's surprise. I had assumed that she wormed the prisoner's location out of Tigh and told Zarek, but he later told Roslin that he wasn't the one who had the guy killed. Was he telling the truth? If so, who killed him? A Cylon agent? Someone sent by Adama? Hmm.

The scene where Roslin shakes Zarek's hand and air kisses him reminded me strongly of the mutual "don't frak with me" hug between Adama and Ellen. Ellen continues to be a glorious slut, but she really needs to cut down on the lip collagen.

Why am I not surprised that Baltar makes a good slimy politician? Ugh. I still can't figure out why he seems to be so irresistible to women, since I have no urges in his direction whatsoever, other than to shove him out the nearest airlock. Bunnyboiler Six returns briefly, when she tells him he can have any woman he wants as long as he remembers she has his heart "and can rip it out of your chest if I need to." Baltar should watch out. He seems to be getting carried away with this "instrument of god" wank, but I'll bet Six can still do him plenty of damage if she chooses.

And now the batshit crazy traitor with Cylon Barbie in his head is the VP. *headdesk* I did get a good giggle out of him giving the female reporter "an exclusive." Heh. Is that what they're calling it these days?

Caprica: 47th day. Helo and Boomer still pretty. I still don't care. At least Helo has finally figured out that Cylons look like us now. Sharon says, for obvious reasons, that if they're from human DNA, they must be capable of emotions such as love, and of fighting their indoctrination. Helo's having none of it. A toaster is a toaster, as far as he's concerned. He twigs to Sharon being a Cylon when he sees another of the same model and takes off after his Sharon shoots her. Poor Helo. So pretty, and so screwed. I guess the same could be said of his Sharon.

In Kara/Lee news, the Arms make multiple appearances in "Colonial Day," and then some, as we finally get to see the source of all those lovely caps of towel-clad Apollo. It was worth the wait. And then there was the adorable hose fight. Awww. Cuter than a lapful of kittens, those two, even when they're kicking ass and taking names or playing good cop/bad cop with one of Zarek's agents. They are such a good team when they aren't squabbling with each other. I'm sure there's something very wrong with me for thinking Lee with the big gun in the interrogation scene was hotter than frak. Also when he tells Zarek that Zarek is next. Eeeeee!

Towel! Towel! Towel! In this scene, I can see that their lips are moving and sounds are coming out, but I'm too distracted by Towel!Lee to make much sense of it. He basically tells Kara that her jacket stinks and insults her hygiene, which no woman is going to take well.

She shows him. Wherever that dress came from, she looks damn hot in it. Roll up your tongue, Lee! If I were Kara, I'd like it but be more than a little freaked out. I mean, I'm sure she wanted him to acknowledge that she is an attractive woman, not just his tomboy buddy, but I think she may have gotten a stronger reaction than she had bargained for. Nothing can ever be easy with you two, can it? "Me in a dress is a once in a lifetime opportunity." Whoa. You can take that more than one way, Lee. Think about it.

Roslin and Adama had a nice moment at the celebration. She smiles as she sees Lee and Kara dancing. "I'm a patriot." "You really are, aren't you." (And she also calls Baltar "the devil she knows," so it's not like she suddenly has a huge amount of confidence in him.) And then Adama asks her to dance. *squee*

Kara by this time is dancing with Baltar.

I haven't yet decided whether they're better off with Baltar as VP than they would have been with Zarek. Honestly, if Roslin dies I think a military dictatorship would be far preferable to either Baltar or Zarek, but I don't think Adama, Tigh, et al. want to run the civilian side of things. Zarek and Ellen are very lucky I'm not running things, because I would have arranged accidents for both of them before now.

In closing, the more Lee, the better.
