This is my first post. I am so glad to have found this community, so I can wax philosophic about this awesome show. We need dark, real social exploration, not a vanilla Picard flitting about space, wringing his hands and gulping down acid reflux over the frackin' Prime Directive. Intelligent debate in the middle of a war for our lives is what we're in the middle of now anyways, right? More or less literally. At least, we can act out our aggressions and fears within a forum that won't get offended...

I'll have more direct thoughts later, but for now, I'm just here to say hi. *waves~

Inspired by Ron Moore's comment in his blog (1/20/05) that he based Colonel Tigh on the character of Commander Eddington from the 1965 film In Harm's Way, I decided to watch my DVD of IHW and look for other parallels. There were plenty more. (Spoilers though "Act of Contrition.")
