My Theory on Humans and Cylons
Here's what I think about they cylons' intent for Helo and Caprica!Boomer:
Meret mentioned the theory that the cylons may be trying to have Helo impregnate Caprica!Boomer. Others have mentioned this theory before, and I completely agree. I think the cylons are trying to create a human-cylon hybrid, and that this somehow ties in with their religious theories.
Since the cylons were originally created by humans, then rebelled, maybe their "God" is the original human who created intelligence in the first cylon? And then, as the cylons grew in numbers and came to know themselves as "selves", they developed a myth where if ever a human and cylon procreated, they would be "freed" from their cylon-ness by the child of both. They seem to have been working toward humanity with their Six, Boomer, and other human-like models. I don't think they did this ONLY to infiltrate the human colonies and destroy them. I think they want to be human and are trying to figure out how humans work by studying Helo and Baltar. Between those two, they have a hero and a villian, and they're testing them both to see whether humans, the cylons' "creators", are worth saving at all. Then they would become the gods...deciding who lives and who dies. Also, I don't know if the cylons realize that humans can't transfer their personalities to another body when they die.
I wonder how long it will take Helo to figure out that his Boomer is a cylon?
