I was thinking about the ways that the Colonial universe did *not* fit the American model that Moore has hinted he's been using. And after I thought I got *very* long winded about it over at my lj.

Discussion of several things, including the relationship between Tigh and Adama.

I'd love to know of/be reminded of different discussions on this topic - how the BSG universe isn't actually ours, and the ways that it is.
