Speculations and Questions on what could happen in 2008 )

If you read my ramblings, man, I'm impressed, because I start talking and have no idea what I even mean. But I really wanted to tell you guys about a role play community called [livejournal.com profile] dramaticmuses. It's a multi fandom role play where we do have a Laura (me), but would LOVE to see more BSG characters. (An Adama would be most excellent.) So if you're interested, head over there and fill out the application.

Was I hearing things? Is the sound of the old school Toasters' eye light mechanism constantly playing in the CIC?? I could swear I heard it tonight. If it always has, I never noticed that before. Weird.

So I'm curious about other people's opinions on Ellen. I, personally, miss her. Despite all of the shit she caused Saul, she gave him a certain spark that I miss. Plus she was a character that added, well, some character to the show. No one knew how to have as much fun as Ellen did :(

I'm really disappointed in some people. I live in the UK and it takes me until Tuesday to get the chance to watch BSG. As some of you are probably aware - Some asshole decided to create a "spoiler" journal yesterday and add a whole load of us BSG-fans. Naturally it has now ruined it for me and probably a few other people as well. I kind of figured that what happened in the episode would actually happen, but even so, it has now ruined the surprise for me. It really really has and I feel quite angry over it. I know I'm probably being silly in some people's eyes, but it really isn't fair 'nor is it funny to spoil something that someone else really enjoys and is really looking forward to.

I just wonder if it was someone in this community who is the owner of the journal.

I've been thinking on the Final Five for a while, ever since seeing a pic on IMDB. (pic behind cut) I have a new thesis.

Spoilers?  I dunno, mostly just

Does anyone remember the name of Cain's previous XO? The one she popped in the brains? I vaguely recall reading somewhere that it was Peter. I can't seem to find the reference which stated it, though, in either battlestar wiki or regular wiki.

Like... What. The. Frak. Can they even do that?

I'm not buying it...yet.

[Keeping this post non-spoilery, but the comments, I can guarantee, will be.]

Ridiculously dorky question:

I recently had the fortune of snagging a battlestar pegasus uniform patch. I noticed that there were several versions of it and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the differences.

The patch I got was one of the blue ones with white stitching. These were the kind I believe I saw the officers such as Admiral Cain wear. However, there were also patches that were black with white stitching. Does anyone know what the difference in colors means? (If anything.)

In addition, almost all of the patches I saw depicted Pegasus belonging to BSG 62, which is correct, according to canon, but I actually saw one which said BSG 63. The auction ad even specified it in the title, as if there was significance about the difference. Anyone know why this would be? (All the patches I am talking about were also from the re-imagined series, not the original.)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

This is not specifically related to the show, however, I think members of this community might be interested in reading the February, 2007 issue of Harper's magazine. The cover article is The Coming Robot Army (pages 43 - 52). Though it does not go into the science involved, it does discuss what kind of robotic weapons systems are in development for the United States Army. Quoting from the article & the Army's own studies: "... advances in artificial intelligence and automatic target recognition will give robots the ability to hunt down and kill the enemy with limited human supervision by 2015 ... humans are the weakest link in the robot's kill chain..." It's interesting reading.

Is it just me, or are a majority of the BSG communities dead? I wanted to enter some drabble contests, but most of the communities' last posts dated back to 2005. Sadness! What's up with that? And does anybody know of some good fanfic challenges that are still alive and running?

Took me a couple of hours, but I finally got everything organized!

This is an elite graphic community for BSG. You must apply if you would like posting access. If you do not wish to apply, please friend the community for updates in the future.

I'm in need of a frak-load of mods right now, so please apply if you are interested in helping to maintain the community (sort through applicants etc.). Thanks in advance to those of you who are willing. This isn't something I could pull off on my own. ;]

I know that the community [livejournal.com profile] good_galacticon already exists, but I don't think there's been any new members since the beginning of fall. Does anybody think it'd be a bad idea to create another community for good BSG icons? I'd definitely be willing in starting something like this, and all I'd need was a few more people to help me moderate the community. I'd also think it'd be a good idea for it to be solely a graphic-related community, and not one for icons only.

How do people feel about this? :]

Alright, I'm going to start up a community, I'll post the link here, and I'm going to open a thread (in the new comm) for moderator applications. I'm going to probably get about 10 moderators. That way, no matter what, there's bound to be someone in charge from time to time.

I just heard Steven Colbert open his show tonight with "If you love Battlestar Galactica, you are probably a HUGE NERD."

I guess it was only a matter of time before I disagreed with something his totally fake character says.

I'm really not that huge.

Hi all, I'm new to BSG. After two weeks and two seasons of eye-stinging, head-throbbing, but most satisfying marathons, I'm officially hooked. I found this community and am already feeling the itch to get involved in discussions and meet new Frakkers.

That is what we're called, right? I just did a little bit of research in the past entries...

I'm also a fan of the X-Files, which is one of the things that led me to watching an episode of BSG, since they air re-runs on the SciFi channel. Also a brilliant show. Gotta love Mulder and Scully. :]

BSG has some hot people and they do hot things. I have to admit that I let out in a fangirl-y squee whenever Adama and Roslin or Lee and Starbuck share a moment. And what's there to say about Gaius/Six. I did mention "hot," right? Holy geez. I'm so glad I stumbled upon such a brilliant show. I cannot wait to start watching season 3!

Just curious, but has a BSG friending meme ever been started? Because I'd love to meet new friends, but I'm not sure where to start.

Peace, Justine.

Hello, I'm new here. I'm not new to BSG I've been watching it since the mini-series.

Anywhoo, did anybody catch what Roslin and Caprica 6 said to each other in the "extra scene" at the end of the episode? I missed most of that scene.
